From Newtown to Riddim Tonight, the classic Dominican training

Mr Ridge. Coleridge Bell by civil name, Dominican from Newtown, puts his hands on a keyboard at 11. His training happens in the school of classic Dominican music: First Serenade, WCK, Belles Combo, Midnight Groovers. That lineage places him in direct descent from Bouyon's foundations. WCK being the genre's matrix group, founded in Roseau in 1988. In 2018 he releases "Riddim Tonight", his first solo single. The progression then settles in stages: "Come & Cocay" 2019, "Doh Call My Phone" 2020, "Je T'aime Dayleeway" 2021 with DJ Luchshiy, a first bridge toward Guadeloupe. Very quickly, he refuses to stay in one box: he sings, he produces, and he starts building his own ecosystem.

The double CMA crown and international consecration

In 2024, Mr Ridge wins the very first Bouyon Artist of the Year at the Caribbean Music Awards, an inaugural category, and a signal that Bouyon now sits in the regional honours list. The following year he keeps the crown and adds Bouyon Producer 2025 on top: a double win, back-to-back. Nobody else in the scene holds two consecutive CMA Bouyon titles. That same year, "Do Baby" and "She Stupid" with 1T1 mark a double single bridging Dominica and Guadeloupe directly, two tracks, one tandem, two islands. "Summertime" 2023 with Admiral T had opened the export door earlier, and the booking at Miami's Big Bad Bouyon Festival in October 2025 confirms the international status. He ranks among the most-streamed Bouyon artists in the world. And the run is not over: at the 2026 Caribbean Music Awards he is nominated again for Artist of the Year (Bouyon), a third consecutive crown is at stake, in an edition where Dominica dominates the genre's categories.

Cross D Bridge and the Nasty Business federator

Around Mr Ridge, through Cross D Bridge, revolve Money Shaun, J-Lion, NICE, Sukie, Pudaz, Dirty Dawg Pudaz and 1T1. That mesh makes him a federator of the island's Nasty Business voices. "Chiney Wine" 2022 with Zaga and Elim Yen, "OG Wet Fest" 2023 with Matieu White, "B.D.Y.M.M." 2024 with Pudaz and Dirty Dawg Pudaz, "Push Ur Hand In Your" 2022 with Dova, Kenny G and Pudaz, "Fym" 2025 with Problem Child, every release widens the mesh. Nasty Business is his creation, the August 2022 single of the same name sets the movement down. And he becomes the voice holding the scene together: artist, producer, boss of the Cross D Bridge label. His declared goal, carrying Bouyon onto the world stage, moves forward release after release since 2018: crowned as an artist, crowned as a producer, and running his own label.
