Nessa Preppy

Nessa Preppy is a female voice of the Trinidadian soca/dancehall scene whose 2025 trajectory holds a singular place in the contemporary Bouyon scene. She is not a Bouyon artist, her catalogue is soca and dancehall, but she crosses Dominican Bouyon production twice in a single year, and it is that density of collaboration which justifies her expanded profile.

The first crossing is "Feel It" feat Punz on the Bouyon Bad Riddim 2025. The riddim, which brings several regional voices together over an explicitly labelled Bouyon mechanism, folds Nessa Preppy in as one of the project's cross-genre female voices. It is a collaborative presence, she does not become a Bouyon artist, she lays her soca/dancehall voice over a Bouyon arrangement, but she is in the family photograph of the Bouyon Bad Riddim, next to other regional voices.

The second crossing is "Dotish Love" with the Dominican Reo. The single comes out on Apple Music and PepseeActus covers it on the francophone Caribbean press side. This time it is an explicit duo collaboration, and the audit records it as one of the five most covered soca-female bridges towards Bouyon from Dominica that year. On the scale of Chapter IX ("The Global Crossover"), that collaboration documents how a Trinidadian soca voice can enter the Dominican circuit through a direct feature without changing its catalogue positioning.

The editorial status to hold is clear. Nessa Preppy remains a soca/dancehall artist from Trinidad and Tobago, with a trajectory of her own that does not merge with Dominican Bouyon. But 2025 writes her name into two places in the worldwide Bouyon story. Bouyon Bad Riddim and "Dotish Love", and that double entry is enough to justify a detailed profile. It illustrates a wider trend: as Bouyon gains international visibility, the female soca voices of Trinidad and Saint Vincent are starting to fold the Dominican circuit into their work as a place of regular collaboration, no longer as an isolated event.
