Gael Jno. Baptiste — aka Trilla-G, from Goodwill right next to Roseau, Dominica — has been making music since 2017 and won the Dominican Calypso King title in 2023. In the summer of 2024, "Someone Else" with Little Boy and Quan turned into one of the most-played Bouyon singles of the year and opened a new lane. The track took Soca Collaboration of the Year at the 2025 Caribbean Music Awards, ahead of Kes, Patrice Roberts and Skinny Fabulous. That same year, he co-wrote "RAGS" with Shelly (Signal Band) and Skinny Fabulous — a single that won Dominica's very first Bouyon Road March in March 2025. On October 22, 2025, he dropped his debut album "Take Me as I Am", 13 tracks recorded at Th3rdHouse Studios (USVI), with V'ghn, Stalk Ashley, Mr Ridge and Shelly. The album hit number one on Dominica streaming platforms on October 24, and Billboard tagged him as a Caribbean Up & Coming artist. All of this happened while he was fighting cancer — a detail picked up across specialized press coverage.
