Shanika releases "Kay vé yo" in 2023: Apple dates it 27 May, the video arrives on 12 July. The track sits on DJ Taffy's Funny Riddim, the same riddim as Asa Bantan, and a line about Nutella spreads it across social media. 4 million Spotify streams. Vegas, the Jamaican dancehall voice. On 27 January 2024, she is on stage at La Cigale, in Paris, then at the All Day In festival in Guadeloupe. In 2026, "Coco", the 6Tresses track produced by Litleboy, brings her together with Holly Beiiy and HollyG.

Kay vé yo, July 2023: the video that makes her name

July 2023. The video for "Kay vé yo" comes out, set on DJ Taffy's Funny Riddim, the same riddim as Asa Bantan. A line about Nutella travels across social media, and the track follows: 3.9 million views for the video, 2.4 million Spotify streams. It is one of the rare Bouyon Gwada tracks of the year to reach beyond the usual fan circuit.

Sa Dou, bla bla bla: the network falls into place

That same year, Shanika follows up with 1T1: "bla bla bla" with HollyG, then "Sa Dou" with Miky Ding La, which puts her on the bridge between the first wave and the New Bouyon Wave. A remix of "Kay vé yo" with Mr. Vegas, the Jamaican dancehall voice, pushes her name beyond the bouyon circuit. On 27 January 2024, she is on stage at La Cigale, in Paris, with Holly G, then at the All Day In festival, in Guadeloupe.

A voice of the Bouyon Gwada female block

Shanika is one of the voices making the 2023-2026 Bouyon Gwada female block legible, and she appears in the chapter "Women of bouyon". With MiiMii KDS, Totally Spice's, HollyG and Yu Meï, she belongs to the generation that does not wait for outside validation to exist on its scene. In 2026, "Coco", the 6Tresses track produced by Litleboy, brings her together again with Holly Beiiy and HollyG.
