Why this profile matters

Maeva Ingrid Alphonse, aka Shanika, dropped "Kay vé yo" in July 2023 and landed one of the most-shared Bouyon Gwada singles of the year. The line "Je m'appelle Shanika et j'adore le Nutella" turned into a TikTok meme that reached well beyond the French Caribbean. She rolled straight into a touring stretch: France, Germany, Réunion, Martinique, French Guiana. That same year, "Sa dou" with 1T1 and Miky Ding La placed her on the bridge between the first Gwada wave and the New Bouyon Wave. A remix with Mr Vegas — the Jamaican dancehall legend — pushed her name past the Bouyon circuit, and she released the "Replay" EP in April 2025. On the 2024-2026 feature side, "Knock Knock" with MiiMii KDS, "Mwen ki pa bon" with Little Boy, "Woman" with Miky Ding La and "She miss me" with Edday and Jixels confirm her spot in the contemporary Bouyon network.
