From the HMC collective to the producer who federates the scene

YSN, civil name Nicolas Lanclume, is not a singer: he is the beatmaker, the one who builds the instrumentals the others lay their voice on. He falls into music very young, pushed by his mother, between the traditional rhythms of Guadeloupe and urban sound. As a teenager he joins the HMC collective, his real starting point, the frame where he learns to produce. A multi-instrumentalist, he touches everything from shatta to zouk to kompa, before melting it all into Bouyon. The project that really settles him is his album "Lapli Season" in March 2024: nineteen titles, some twenty Caribbean artists gathered around his productions, the calling card of a producer who federates more than he follows.

2025, the year the wave starts calling him

2025 makes YSN the beatmaker the New Bouyon Wave calls, with five releases, each of which counts. "Pran On Pyé" brings together 1T1, Le Juh and Qwann, three structural names of the collective, and a title that becomes a reference for NBW beatmaker writing. The pairing with Aknose continues with "Matcha" and "Palabras" the same year, confirming the stability of that association. "La Manigance" with Aknose and Le Jèm'ss stretches the mesh further. Five releases in a year, all for New Bouyon Wave voices: the mark of a beatmaker the collective cannot do without, without being one of its members. The move from beatmaker-with-regular-credits to central producer of the wave happens over that year.

Move 2026 and the extension of the network

In 2026, "Move" fixes YSN's place: he is in the credits alongside 1T1, Aknose, Le Juh, Theomaa and Qwann, five of the New Bouyon Wave on one release, four voices and a producer. That is how the wave works: as a crew. The same year, "Jéré Sa" with DJ Softee, Edday, Jixels and DJ Boko widens the network on the Warm Up side. "Good" with Le Juh and "Everyday" with Shanika confirm the regularity, and "Mielleux" with Arendi extends the bridge towards the Gwada transition. The role is clear: YSN is the beatmaker you call when you want a production that sounds New Bouyon Wave. Across 2024-2026 he strings releases together, almost always with at least one voice of the wave (1T1, Aknose, Le Juh, Theomaa), which makes him, on the production side, one of the pillars of the genre, on the same footing as 1T1.
