Jixels

The piano first, the mic after

Jixels is a pianist from Guadeloupe. Before the platform credits, there is the keyboard and the stage: you spot him inside the Hot Spot Band, alongside Edday, where his playing goes beyond the quiet role usually given to a band musician. That is where the audience remembers his name, not on a release, but on a live show.

So when his name starts circulating in the credits in 2024, with "WIFI Freestyle" bringing together DJ Luchshiy, Edday and Reo, he arrives with a musician's craft behind him. The same year, "Adios Amigos" with Reo and Le Juh writes him into the New Bouyon Wave through Le Juh's voice, one of the collective's eight voices. "Kalollipop" with Aknose extends that mesh in his first year.

His band, his show, his production

Over the years, Jixels breaks away from the Hot Spot Band. He puts together his own group, builds his own show and leads it. Going from musician to bandleader means deciding the repertoire, the casting on stage and the sound of the whole thing.

That position is what opens production for other artists. And it is also what gives his catalogue its particular shape: a name that comes back on very different releases, sometimes on vocals, sometimes behind the desk, because both hats come from the same place.

The territorial bridges to SXM and Dominica

In 2025, "Nouveau La" with BRG Hollywood opens a bridge with the Saint Martin scene, a territory that rarely appears in platform bouyon credits, and that Jixels connects to Guadeloupe through that release. The same year, "You Mad" with Reo, DJ Luchshiy and Edday connects Guadeloupe to Dominica on a single track, Reo being one of the active Dominican voices of Nasty Business. "Poukwa" with Edday and Krys in 2025 confirms how steady the tandem with Edday is, as he becomes one of the catalogue's recurring collaborators. Those releases draw a precise function: Jixels is one of the Bouyon Gwada artists who widens the geographic mesh beyond Guadeloupe alone, showing up in credits that cross Dominica and SXM.

Jéré Sa in 2026 and the Warm Up consolidation

In 2026, "Jéré Sa" with DJ Softee, Edday, DJ Boko and YSN places Jixels at the heart of the Warm Up releases. The presence of DJ Softee, one of the eight voices of the New Bouyon Wave, on that credit confirms his integration. The same year, "She Miss Me" with Edday and Shanika, "Touchdown" with Edday and "Jouvert Morning" with Lucky lukee widen the NBW mesh further. His catalogue also runs through the compilations "YSN Session Vol. 1" and "Indecision Riddim", which record how regularly he appears in collective projects. Across the ten documented releases, Edday is credited seven times, which establishes a stable tandem between the two Guadeloupean artists and explains why Jixels shows up systematically in the Warm Up compilations of the period. The official spelling stays fixed (alias Jixel in the singular, not to be confused). For the editorial mesh of Chapter VII, Jixels holds the place of a technical connector: neither a dominant solo voice nor an exclusive producer, but a recurring figure appearing wherever the platform scene thickens.
