July 2012: Miky Ding La uploads "Batte gèl ar", titled "NEWS BOUYON". In late August, "Bitin woz", on a J2MO composition, circulates tagged "Bouyon 2012"; Apple dates it 1 March 2013. At that point he sits in the same lane as Kassidje, Ghetto Princess, Sted Kila and Haterz B.
His bouyon line does not break after 2013: "Red adan" at the JDMO studio in November 2013, "Yo pa kontan" and "An té ké baw" with HB War in 2018, DJ Beaw's Bouyon Shatting Mixtape with Weelow and Doc J in 2019, "Bénéfi's (Bouyon Remix)" on a J2MO riddim in 2021.
In January 2022, "Koké La (Bouyon Kings)" with Yellow Gaza comes out on Vadore Concept Groupe, Vador's label. In 2023, "Sa dou" with 1T1 and Shanika puts him next to the New Bouyon Wave, and in 2024 he appears on HB War's "Nympho". A Gwada connector, not a global pillar, but essential to understand how the first wave held on until the New Bouyon Wave arrived.
Bitin woz in 2012: a voice of the first Bouyon Gwada wave
July 2012: Miky Ding La uploads "Batte gèl ar", titled "NEWS BOUYON". In late August, "Bitin woz", on a J2MO composition, circulates tagged "Bouyon 2012", before Apple dates it 1 March 2013. At that time he is in the same lane as Kassidje, Ghetto Princess, Sted Kila and Haterz B. He presents himself as a dancehall artist, but bouyon is already one of his doors, at a time when the scene is still looking for its institutional name and releases circulate on near-underground channels.
A bouyon line that does not break, up to Koké La
After 2013, Miky Ding La does not disappear. "Red adan" comes out of the JDMO studio in November 2013. In 2018, he follows with "Yo pa kontan" and "An té ké baw" with HB War, and in February 2019, DJ Beaw brings him together with Weelow and Doc J on the Bouyon Shatting Mixtape. In 2021, "Bénéfi's" gets a bouyon version on a J2MO riddim. Then, on 14 January 2022, "Koké La (Bouyon Kings)" with Yellow Gaza comes out on Vadore Concept Groupe, Vador's label: the link with the founding collective of the first wave is still there.
Sa dou in 2023 with 1T1 and Shanika
In 2023, "Sa dou" with 1T1 and Shanika puts Miky Ding La next to the New Bouyon Wave. 1T1 is an NBW voice, Shanika the viral voice of "Kay vé yo" that same year. In 2024, he appears on HB War's "Nympho", titled "Bouyon 2024". A Gwada connector, not a global pillar, he is essential to understanding how the first wave held on until the New Bouyon Wave arrived. He appears in the chapters "Bouyon reaches Guadeloupe" and "The Gwada relaunch".
