The wave does not arrive all at once. It begins when the network dares to name itself.

I — Before the name: the network

The New Bouyon Wave is not lightning falling on an empty island. The earlier chapters have already laid the ground: Dominica gives the grammar, Guadeloupe builds its first wave, the Gwada transition plugs the cables back in between 2016 and 2022, and Saint-Martin proves with Tolly Boyz that other islands can write their names into Bouyon. In 2023, the novelty is not that Bouyon suddenly exists in Guadeloupe. The novelty is that the new generation dares to name itself.

A wave needs two things. First, tracks that circulate fast enough for the public to feel a change. Then, a name that lets people recognize that change. Before the name, there are already improvised studios, phones, artists crossing paths, producers moving from one riddim to another, clips, snippets, radio, platforms. The public does not always see the kitchen; it only hears that something is starting to move.

The New Bouyon Wave forms exactly there: between the raw energy of Bouyon Gwada, the collaborative habit of the transition period, and the platform logic of the 2020s. It does not look like a Dominican band such as WCK or Triple Kay. It does not look like one locked collective with a single membership card either. It works more like a network made visible through features.

That difference matters. WCK invented a grammar in the studio. Triple Kay held an arena. Vador organized a scene. Tolly Boyz put Saint-Martin on the map. The New Bouyon Wave gives 2023 Guadeloupe a platform language: release fast, collaborate heavily, name the movement, let tracks connect the circles.

The wave begins when a network stops being only a network and becomes a name.

II — TIITII NBA: the method before the storefront

In this story, TIITII NBA is not only one artist among others. He is one of the points where the name becomes public. Platform sources place him as an independent artist from Guadeloupe, from Morne-à-l'Eau, with a first project, New Bouyon Age, in 2022, described as made from an iPhone [S-31]. That detail is not a technical anecdote; it speaks to the method of the era. Make with little. Post quickly. Do not wait for the industry to give permission.

That method extends what chapter V called the transition. Bouyon Gwada between 2016 and 2022 had already tested clips, collaborations, modest studios and direct releases. TIITII NBA pushes that logic toward a more digital aesthetic: short tracks, immediate energy, Creole/English mixtures, trap and Bouyon references, an identity shaped more by platforms than by a rehearsal room.

The name New Bouyon Wave does not come from a marketing office. It comes from a practice: artists publishing, answering one another, crossing paths, building a public by accumulation. The word "wave" makes visible what is already moving. It is not yet an institution. It is a banner.

There is also a trap to avoid: telling TIITII NBA's story as if he erased everyone else. A pivot role is not a solitary role. On the contrary, the strength of this period is that it turns scattered presences into an audible network. The pivot does not replace the wave; he gives it an entry point.

III — 30 June 2023: the New Bouyon Wave EP

The first clear public milestone is TiiTii NBA's New Bouyon Wave EP, dated 30 June 2023. Apple Music presents it as a 6-track EP [S-30]. PepseeActus confirms the date, the title, beatmaker DJ Skaytah and the tracklist: Manaudou, Jumping Jack with Lünik, Pushing P with DJ Skaytah, Vody Lavish with Kevni, Put it in with DJ Softee and Edday, then Oshan [S-29].

That tracklist matters because it links several periods. Lünik brings back the T-BTS / 2020 transition thread. Kevni comes from the dancehall-Bouyon zone already active in 2018-2019. Edday was already a collaboration pivot before 2023. DJ Softee arrives as a producer-artist figure of the recent era. The EP does not manufacture the scene from nothing; it gathers lines that had already been prepared.

Jumping Jack becomes a strong marker because it condenses that logic. The public tracklist places Lünik on the EP [S-29]. His presence connects the 2020 collective base to the 2023 banner: the New Bouyon Wave does not cut the transition off; it exposes it.

This also corrects the chronology. The wave is not only the September single. By June 2023, the name is already circulating as a TiiTii NBA project. September will make the network more collective, but June places the label.

IV — 29 September 2023: New Bouyon Wave #1

On 29 September 2023, New Bouyon Wave #1 comes out under D0 Production, with TiiTii NBA, Nils, DJ Softee, Aknose and Theomaa [S-33]. Shazam confirms the same artist configuration and links the track to D0 Production [S-32]. This is the second major milestone: after the EP that places the name, the collective single gives the wave a group image.

The nuance is essential. New Bouyon Wave can name three different things: a TiiTii NBA EP from 30 June 2023, a collective track from 29 September 2023, and a wider era of Guadeloupean features. Mix those levels and the story becomes foggy. Keep them distinct and the story becomes readable.

In that reading, TIITII NBA stays central because he gives the public name in June. Nils, DJ Softee, Aknose and Theomaa give the September signal its collective shape. 1T1, Le Juh and Luky Lukee do not need to be on that track to matter inside the wave: they belong to the network that thickens the period through other tracks, other crossings and other circuits.

V — The core: eight names, not a cage

The New Bouyon Wave core reads around eight names: 1T1, TIITII NBA, Softee, Aknose, Nils, Luky Lukee, Le Juh and Theomaa. That core is not an administrative cage. It is a circulation map: who returns in the tracks, who connects the circles, who makes the scene recognizable from 2023 onward.

Public sources confirm several points in the network. PepseeActus presents DJ Softee as Julian White, a Guadeloupean DJ, composer and singer in Bouyon, present on New Bouyon Wave #1, KPT, BOUNCE and other releases [S-36]. Theomaa, Mathéo Coquerelle, is linked to AB Boyz and appears on New Bouyon Wave #1, Leave Me Alone, Bouwey, Viniw and Ouba [S-37]. LeJuh, Julio Polydamas, is documented with Trampoline and Piney in 2023, then several collective connections [S-38]. Aknose, Gaël Rampath, is tied to Les Abymes and Bouyon, with visible activity across 2023-2026 [S-39].

Luky Lukee enters the map through another door: Apple Music documents Volé'y feat Nils & LeJuh on 13 July 2023 [S-40]. That track matters because it shows the wave does not depend on one official song. It exists as a cluster: an EP, a collective single, side collaborations, artists answering one another.

1T1 has another function again. RFI presents him in 2025 as a Guadeloupean composer, producer and singer, one of the voices of new-generation Bouyon [S-34]. PepseeActus documents him as Terry Baptiste, Guadeloupean artist/beatmaker, Bouyon genre, with CHORD in the discography and several connections to Theomaa, MiiMii KDS, Aknose and others [S-35]. He is not only a voice: he becomes a producer-artist and point of organization for the network.

VI — What the wave changes

The New Bouyon Wave changes less the definition of Bouyon than its mode of diffusion. The base remains fast, direct, Caribbean, inheriting from Dominica and Guadeloupe. What changes is the way the scene becomes visible. Before, a band, a party, an organizer and a place mattered most. Now, platforms, clips, short snippets, features, artist profiles and clean metadata matter too.

That shift explains why the wave can grow quickly. A track no longer stays only in a car, a night out or a neighborhood. It enters Apple Music, Shazam, Spotify, PepseeActus, YouTube, TikTok, local radio, playlists and stories. The scene is no longer only local, even when it speaks from Guadeloupe. It becomes findable elsewhere.

The wave is therefore neither a closed club nor a label to stick on everything that moves. It is first a 2023-2026 Guadeloupean crystallization: the moment when the island gives a name to a method. Move fast. Collaborate. Publish. Cross islands. Accept that Bouyon now lives as much in the studio as in the phone.

The New Bouyon Wave did not only change the names on the poster. It changed the speed at which a scene becomes visible.
