Klockerz Krew

Klockerz Krew is a Dominican collective to place on the wrecketeng / reketeng line of Bouyon. That line is one of the two major development paths of the genre in Dominica: on one side, the mainstream Bouyon carried by WCK, then Triple Kay and the modern bands; on the other, a rougher, more underground, more sample-based line mixing hip-hop, dancehall and Bouyon into a grammar that sums itself up this way: "music by Bushtown Clan or anything mixed with heavy hip hop/rap would be under Wrecketeng".

The collective is documented across the late 1990s and the 2000s, alongside Bushtown Clan, Nursery Krew Inc. (NKI), Jolly Burn Brain, Charlie Black, Watty and DJ Cut. Together, these actors structure a parallel scene that does not carry the same mainstream visibility as the carnival bands but which prepares the ground for what will later become, in the 2020s, Nasty Business, the new line of rough Bouyon carried by Pudaz, Kenny G, DJ Taffy, NICE, Faithii, Smokiller and their circle.

That continuity is essential to the Bouyon story. Without Klockerz Krew and the wrecketeng line, there is no correct way to explain how the Nasty Business of the 2020s roots itself in a real tradition rather than in a simple platform invention. The collective is part of that genealogy.

As with the other early actors of that line, the public documentation of Klockerz Krew stays limited: the collective belongs to the Bouyon-muffin / early bouyon generation, but the precise discographies and member names still call for interviews and verification. Klockerz Krew therefore keeps a sober trace and a solid historical positioning, without factual invention.
