Mathieu Richardson

Mathieu Richardson is the M of YMW. SoualigaPost describes him as a direct neighbour of Youry Fleming in Sandy Ground (Saint Martin), present from the very start of the Tolly Boyz story. In April 2015, on a party bus in Sandy Ground, Youry, 18, hums him for the first time the verse that will become Tolly she want. A few hours later, Wizito sings the title at a party in front of the crowd; the next day, the trio records at Madtwoz studios, over instrumentals composed by D-mitri, Youry's brother.

Mathieu Richardson's trajectory in SXM Bouyon is entirely written inside the Tolly Boyz / YMW matrix. He is on all three confirmed titles of the account: Tolly she want (2015, the first Saint Martin Bouyon recording at Madtwoz studios), On Plonge feat Bilix (29 January 2017, more than 511,000 YouTube views in two months, likely anthem of the 2017 SXM carnival according to SoualigaPost) and Mannequin Challenge (2017). In April 2017 he steps with the group onto the main stage of the Carnival Village during the Youth Extravaganza, confirmed by The Daily Herald.

After 2017, the public documentation of Mathieu Richardson in SXM Bouyon is sparse. But the founding gesture stays documented, a teenager from Sandy Ground who happens to be there, in the right place, at the right moment, and who says yes to a project born on a party bus.

Mathieu Richardson's function in the Tolly Boyz matrix is no small thing. SoualigaPost describes him as Youry Fleming's direct neighbour. That daily proximity is what makes the April 2015 spark possible: Youry does not hum his line to a stranger, he sings it to someone who shares the same streets, the same parties, the same Caribbean references. The force of the Tolly Boyz story rests partly on that neighbourhood scale: a group born between neighbours, on a bus, in front of an audience everyone recognises personally.

His name stays tied to the founding trio and to the 2017 carnival sequence that puts Tolly Boyz on the most visible SXM stage of the year.
