D-mitri

D-mitri is Youry Fleming's brother and a local beatmaker from Sandy Ground (Saint Martin). In 2015, when Tolly Boyz / YMW form and record their first title Tolly she want at Madtwoz studios, they pick instrumentals composed by him. That function places D-mitri inside the local workshop of SXM Bouyon 2015-2017: he is one of the people close enough to the trio for a song to come out fast, without much infrastructure.

D-mitri is not the producer of On Plonge feat Bilix, whose production is attributed to TALIXO BEATZ. Nor is he a sonic pillar of Bouyon in the manner of a J2MO, a Bilix or later a Cornell Phillip. On an island where the Bouyon infrastructure is modest, the local role of a beatmaker like D-mitri genuinely counts; but a local function does not mechanically turn into regional stature.

After 2017, his public trace goes opaque. What remains is his function inside the founding cell, the instrumental from an older brother that lets the younger one walk into a studio the day after his first try on a bus.

SXM Bouyon is not a separate sonic sub-genre. No source shows a musical signature radically different from Dominica or Guadeloupe. SXM is a geographical scene. D-mitri is therefore not a producer who invented a Saint Martin sound; he is a local beatmaker who let three teenagers give themselves permission to produce.
