⚡ The essentials in 30 seconds

Joli BB, by Maurane Voyer (Fort-de-France) and Reo (Dominica), comes out on October 9, 2026. The video follows on October 10.

YSN, beatmaker from Guadeloupe, makes the beat: three islands on one bouyon single.

Maurane Voyer is not a bouyon artist: she comes from zouk. That is what makes the song worth following.

To my knowledge, this is the first time a voice from Martinique appears on a bouyon from Dominica.

Brennen and Boss, two shatta songs, show that artists from Martinique and Guadeloupe already work together.

Maurane Voyer is on the World Creole Music Festival bill on Friday October 23, Reo on Saturday October 24.

In short. On Friday, October 9, 2026, Maurane Voyer, from Fort-de-France, and Reo, from Dominica, release Joli BB. The beat is by YSN, a beatmaker from Guadeloupe. Three islands on one single. Maurane Voyer comes from zouk, not bouyon, and that is exactly why the song is worth following: to my knowledge, this is the first time a voice from Martinique appears on a bouyon from Dominica.

For years, these three islands listen to each other without meeting on a single song. Bouyon is born in Dominica, Guadeloupe carries it, Martinique has its own genre, shatta. This Friday, one single puts all three on the same track.

One single, three islands

Joli BB reaches the platforms on Friday, October 9, 2026. The video follows on Saturday, October 10: 2 minutes 38, directed by Steeven Gromat, Mauve and Reo. The single runs 2 minutes 43.

The names behind the song already draw the map. Maurane Voyer sings from Fort-de-France and comes from zouk. Reo is an artist from Dominica. YSN, a beatmaker from Guadeloupe, makes the beat. Writing and composition are credited to all three. Mauve produces, Dernz mixes and masters, the vocals are recorded at HMC Studio, and publishing is with 2J musiQ x UMPG.

In the video's keywords, bouyon comes before Martinique, Guadeloupe and Dominica. The order is not trivial: the song files itself under the genre first, the islands second.

A voice from Martinique already in the circle

Joli BB does not come out of nowhere. Maurane Voyer already crosses paths with the voices of Guadeloupe's bouyon, but in another genre.

On February 27, 2026, at the Bordeaux Carnival, she opens the night at the Parc des Expositions. LeJuh steps up right after, in a bouyon universe. Two sets, one night, two neighboring islands in front of the same crowd. She also performs TinenlanMauryl there, a featuring with Meryl.

Then there is Brennen, a shatta single. Apple Music dates it August 7, 2026, LeJuh's YouTube channel shows September 25: both dates coexist. It brings Maurane Voyer together with LeJuh and Aknose, two of the eight voices of the New Bouyon Wave, and several other voices from Guadeloupe.

Same movement with Meryl, born in Le Lamentin, Martinique. She releases Boss in 2026, shatta too, with LeJuh as the featuring.

So voices from Martinique and voices from Guadeloupe's bouyon already work together, on shatta. These are artists meeting. Joli BB adds one thing: this time the meeting happens on a bouyon.

What it changes, and what it does not

Bouyon and shatta stay two genres. Bouyon comes from Dominica, shatta from Martinique. A single does not mix them, and this special does not say otherwise. It is not about a Martinican bouyon scene: it is about guest voices.

What changes is more precise. A voice from Martinique, coming from zouk, sits on a bouyon that an artist from Dominica sings and a beatmaker from Guadeloupe builds. It shows that a voice from the island can come to bouyon by invitation, without leaving its own universe.

Bouyon welcomes its guests. Guadeloupe comes to it as early as 2007 and carries it today with Dominica. Martinique enters this time through a voice, not through a movement.

What comes next, in Roseau

The World Creole Music Festival runs October 23 to 25, 2026 at Windsor Park Sports Stadium in Roseau. Maurane Voyer is on the Friday 23 bill. Reo is on the Saturday 24 bill. The two artists of Joli BB do not share the same night, and we will see what happens on stage in Roseau.
