Teyma comes from the mainland's francophone R&B and pop scene, and that's her way into bouyon. Her base is the R&B voice; the bouyon colours sit on top. Specialist press sums her music up as "R&B tied to bouyon", and places her in the French crossover wave, the one that carries the word far from the Caribbean without being from the Caribbean.
It all starts with "CHICHI", released on March 25, 2025 on Colligence Records, distributed by Capitol, over a production by Alexay Beats. She follows with "MIMITA" the same year, then shifts gears: from "SHAKE IT UP" in January 2026, her releases go self-produced under her own label, Tey-Pop Music. "HOLLYWOOD GIRLS", "CITY BOY" and "NÉGATIF", dated June 10, 2026, keep the same pace.
On streaming she sits near Darlingchouchou, Maylie and Ricky Bishop, and "CHICHI" shows up in the selections that map bouyon crossover, alongside Theodora. Numéro lists her among the francophone singers to watch in 2026. She isn't part of the Guadeloupean New Bouyon Wave: she's a mainland voice moving solo, crossing into the genre through rhythm.
An R&B voice crossing paths with bouyon
Teyma is a singer from mainland France who runs bouyon through R&B. She is not from the Caribbean and does not make the original bouyon, the one born in Dominica at the end of the 1980s. Her base is R&B and French-language pop; the bouyon colours are laid on top. The specialist press sums up her music in one simple line: "R&B paired with bouyon".
From "CHICHI" to self-production
It all starts with "CHICHI", her single released on 25 March 2025 on the Colligence Records label, distributed by Capitol, produced by Alexay Beats. The track sets her signature and circulates in bouyon crossover selections. She follows with "MIMITA" the same year, then changes gear: from "SHAKE IT UP" in January 2026, her releases move to self-production on her own label, Tey-Pop Music. "HOLLYWOOD GIRLS", "CITY BOY" and "NÉGATIF", dated 10 June 2026, keep the same pace.
In the bouyon crossover crowd
Teyma moves in the same lane as the mainland bouyon scene. On the platforms you find her filed next to Darlingchouchou, Maylie or Ricky Bishop, and "CHICHI" appears in the selections that map this crossover, alongside Theodora. Numéro lists her among the French-language singers to watch in 2026. On Instagram she signs @teyma, kite included. She does not belong to the Guadeloupean New Bouyon Wave: she is a young voice of French bouyon crossover, moving solo.
