Two Caribbean Music Awards for 1T1 and Theomaa
On Saturday in Port of Spain, 1T1 and Theomaa win Bouyon Song of the Year with "Bouwéy" and French Caribbean Song of the Year with "Ouba".
Saturday night in Port of Spain, 1T1 and Theomaa shake hands on the Caribbean Music Awards stage. The two artists from Guadeloupe leave with two trophies, one for each song.
"Bouwéy" takes Bouyon Song of the Year. Its video comes out on January 24, 2025; twenty months later, it passes 26 million views on YouTube.
"Ouba" wins French Caribbean Song of the Year. The single comes out on December 5, 2025, and its video passes 2.7 million views.
1T1 and Theomaa belong to the New Bouyon Wave, the Guadeloupe generation of the genre. In 2024, 1T1 sets the course: "I want people to see bouyon moving up a step."
The same night, Bouyon Artist of the Year goes to Ridge, from Dominica, for the third time, the winner of every edition since 2024.
