All Star Band

All Star Band belongs to the Dominican live layer of Bouyon, in that generation of bands active through the 1990s and 2000s which forms the backbone of Roseau Carnival programming and surrounds the expansion of WCK and then Triple Kay International. That generation is essential to understanding how Bouyon becomes a carnival culture in the full sense: a live circuit, trucks, local parties, and a fabric of secondary bands that keeps the musical language continuous between the major solo record ruptures still to come.

All Star Band reads in the same register as Legacy Band, Cross Vibes Band, Effects Band, Ignition Band and Explosive Band. These outfits are not part of the core of contemporary platform-era solo artists, but their trace is essential to holding a real historical depth. Without these bands, the 2000s era of Dominican Bouyon is impoverished in favour of the headline names alone.

All Star Band remains a scene marker, with no invented discography or specific titles. The principle: preserve the trace, without filling the gaps with assumptions or inventing dates and hits that do not exist in the sources. Solid new public sources, interviews, audio archives, period photographs, verified Carnival programmes, will sharpen its contribution to the live fabric of the era.
