On Friday, October 30, the full poster for the 13th Fete Lapwent comes out. Under a drum and palm trees, twenty-seven names line up for three days in Pointe Michel. Denise Charles-Pemberton and the Pointe Michel Development Committee present the event.
The fete opens on Sunday, November 1 at 3 pm, then resumes on Monday, November 2 and Tuesday, November 3 at 8 pm. At the top of the bill, four bouyon names: TK International, Signal Band, Pudaz and Gwada G. Extacy Band, Asher Thomas, First Serenade, Ophelia Marie and Fyah Bryte follow, with the village cultural group and six DJs, from DJ Cut The Legendary to DJ Flip.
Fete Lapwent runs alongside the feast of the Pointe Michel community. In 2013, the development committee takes it from one day to two, because more and more residents want to take part. Ian Pinard, who chairs the committee at the time, wants to show the village's talents, on stage as in the kitchen. Ian Pinard counts Pointe Michel people among the best chefs in Dominica. That year, First Serenade is already on the bill. In 2026, the fete runs for three days.
