On Friday evening, Ebony Empress posts a video, wishes everyone a happy Friday and drops a line in Creole: "Nobody Doh Toufay". The keyword follows, bouyon. The day before, the message was already clear: stay tuned.
"Toufay" has in fact been online since that same morning. The single runs 3 minutes 04 and comes out under the artist's own name, with no label. The artist from Portsmouth, Dominica, carries it solo, with backing vocals and a studio producer credited.
It arrives three weeks after the Bounce 2D Riddim, released on September 23, which already has its official video. Before that, Ebony Empress's summer runs through "32 Pong Town" with Real Reel on August 3 and a remix of "Kokayoko" with Shawn Storm on July 17.
On Friday, the instruction fits in one word: move your head in time. The rest plays out on the platforms.
