On Wednesday, in broad daylight, under the Ti Vilaj Kwéyòl tent, Triple Kay International plays the Dominica Botanic Gardens. The guitar leads, the band holds the stage from start to finish and closes day three of the village.
The official programme promised bouyon without naming anyone. This week's footage names them. Carlyn XP also sings on the village stage, mic in hand, in a brightly coloured outfit.
That same Wednesday, in Castle Comfort, Shelly and Signal Band play White Sunset, an all-white party with a touch of Creole. Shelly sings in white, mic raised. White Sunset is one of the fringe events held around the three nights of the World Creole Music Festival, like Ti Vilaj.
The village closes this Thursday at 8 p.m. On Friday, October 23, the festival opens at Windsor Park Sports Stadium in Roseau, with Triple Kay, billed as TK International, on the opening night. Shelly & The Signal Band return on Sunday the 25th, for the closing night.
