Saturday, August 29, at the Agora du Port de Québec. Cunnila performs at the Afrobae festival, wearing a carnival-inspired stage outfit made entirely by hand by Cindy Lapuly, a designer from Guadeloupe based in Montreal.
The show starts at 2 p.m. The bill includes Keblack, Didi B, Fallon and Sensei, among others. In the middle of that line-up, Cunnila represents Guadeloupe, with a set that blends R&B and bouyon.
Originally from Guadeloupe, Cunnila has lived in Quebec City for seven years. The catalogue starts in 2021 with "Tequila", then "Wine up" in 2022, "Jaloux" in 2023 and "Bodycount" in 2025. Before turning to bouyon, Cunnila moves through hip-hop, Afro R&B and Afropop.
On stage in Quebec City, Cunnila already counts some fifteen shows, from the Fête de la musique to the Festival Afromonde. Bouyon takes up a growing share of them, in Canada, where the genre is still little represented.
