On Wednesday, October 14, Billy BYBF runs toward the camera along a seaside promenade, under the palm trees, a red cap on. The video comes down to three words: "MALIBU out now". Two days earlier, the announcement promised the trip for Wednesday and told everyone to pack their bags.
"MALIBU" runs two minutes thirteen. Billy BYBF is credited for the vocals and the production. The single lands five days after "GWADLOUPÉYEN", released on Friday, October 9, at one minute forty-six.
The two releases are not the same age. On October 7, the artist explains recording "GWADLOUPÉYEN" more than two years ago, in a bedroom, to call out in a personal way a past reality that still lasts. The same message announces what comes next: "MALIBU", with its video.
The pace has held since the summer. "SAFE PLACE (TAKE MY MONEY)" comes out in June, the "GALAKTIK" EP on August 20, then "BADDIE" with DJ SKYCEE on September 11. With "MALIBU", Billy BYBF counts five releases in four months.
